There's no place like home for Spring Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Fruitport Trojans on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lakers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Spring Lake had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-23.

Brooke StGeorge paced Spring Lake's offense, picking up 14 kills. StGeorge got some help from Ashlynn O'Donnell and her 22 assists. StGeorge also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lauren Meigs, racking up three apiece.

Spring Lake picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-7-2. As for Fruitport, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 11-5-1.

Spring Lake has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Western Michigan Christian on the 16th. As for Fruitport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Ravenna on the 16th.
