Verbena has gone 9-1 against Billingsley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Verbena Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Billingsley Bears at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Verbena's offense. They came up short against Maplesville on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which Verbena was not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Billingsley came up short against Jemison on Monday and fell 9-6. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly three runs.

Kaliyah McCary spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on eight hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Billingsley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Cotton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was Jakayla Harris, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Billingsley's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Verbena, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything went Verbena's way against Billingsley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Verbena made off with a 12-2 victory. Will Verbena repeat their success, or does Billingsley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
