Softball Preview: Kaplan Pirates vs. Parkview Baptist Eagles
The Kaplan Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Parkview Baptist Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Kaplan made easy work of Acadiana and carried off an 8-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.
Meanwhile, while Parkview Baptist put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Zachary. The Eagles blew past the Broncos 6-0.
Aimee Gawlik made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jalayah Slaughter was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Addie Young was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Kaplan's record now sits at 23-4. As for Parkview Baptist, their record is now 25-4.
