Football Recap: Eastmoor Academy Takes a Loss

Eastmoor Academy had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it five. They were beaten by the Linden-McKinley Panthers 55-18. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

As for Linden-McKinley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average this season.

Linden-McKinley found their leader in sophomore Davell Brock, who threw for 219 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 83 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. The Panthers also got a significant boost from Chris Caldwell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 137 yards.

Eastmoor Academy and Linden-McKinley will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Warriors are set to challenge their familiar foe West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Linden-McKinley will face off against rival Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
