Basketball Game Preview: Balboa Buccaneers vs. Mission Bears

Balboa is 2-8 against Mission since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Balboa Buccaneers will take on the Mission Bears at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Wednesday, Balboa had to suffer through a 70-42 loss at the hands of Washington. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1093rd, while the Eagles are ranked 442nd).

Meanwhile, Mission was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a blow against Washington, falling 77-38.

Balboa's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Mission, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Balboa couldn't quite finish off Mission in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 74-72. Can Balboa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
