Volleyball Recap: Brainerd Takes a Loss

Brainerd lost against Sartell-St. Stephen on September 4th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors lost 3-0 to the Sabres. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 25-15.

Keeley Gondringer paced Brainerd's offense, picking up four kills. Gondringer got some help from Bella Goggleye and her six assists. Goggleye was also a major player on defense: she and Ruthie Owen shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Brainerd's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Sartell-St. Stephen, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brainerd is set to square off against their familiar foe Fergus Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sartell-St. Stephen will face off against rival Apollo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
