Basketball Recap: Marquette Skates Past Prince of Peace Prep with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marquette). They claimed a resounding 80-29 win over the Prince of Peace Prep Irish. Given the Defenders' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Irish are ranked 331st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marquette has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Prince of Peace Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Marquette has already played their next contest, a 64-51 loss against Edgewood-Colesburg on the 23rd. As for Prince of Peace Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-43 defeat against Wilton on the 23rd.
