Baseball Game Preview: Seymour Indians vs. Camp Point Central Panthers

The Seymour Indians will challenge the Camp Point Central Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Seymour is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Calhoun hit Seymour with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Seymour got a good showing from Isiah Brass, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Brass hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.

On the hitting side, Blake Schwartz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Camp Point Central faced off against Canton on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since March 29th.

Nate Peters was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Petersen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Camp Point Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
