Jefferson has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Dayton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Thursday, Jefferson took a serious blow against Salem Academy, falling 51-8.
Meanwhile, Dayton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They strolled past Santiam Christian with points to spare, taking the game 22-7.
Dayton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Boston Hodges, who rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Zach Smith, who rushed for 182 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Dayton's victory bumped their season record to 7-0 while Jefferson's defeat dropped theirs to 0-6.
Jefferson took a serious blow against Dayton when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 44-3. Thankfully for Jefferson, Nate Arce (who rushed for 41 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
