Softball Game Preview: Lisle Lions vs. Reed-Custer Comets

Lisle is 1-9 against Reed-Custer since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Comets at 4:30 p.m. Neither Lisle nor Reed-Custer posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Lisle is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Streator, falling 8-2.

Lisle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madysen Cole, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Reed-Custer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morris.

Reed-Custer's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Lisle, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Lisle might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Reed-Custer when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
