Volleyball Recap: Lower Merion Comes Up Short

If Lower Merion was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ridley on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aces lost 3-0 to the Radnor Raptors on Friday. The Aces were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raptors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Lower Merion ultimately came up short, they really made Radnor work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-12, 25-19.

Sophia Guglielmo paced Lower Merion's offense, picking up nine kills. Guglielmo got some help from Stevie Rothberg and her 19 assists. Rothberg was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lower Merion dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Radnor, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Lower Merion has already played their next match (against Fleetwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Radnor, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ridley at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th.
