Basketball Recap: Rogers Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rogers's game on Saturday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 45-41 W over the Decatur Golden Gators. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Golden Gators are ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Decatur still got an impressive performance from Jeralynn Sevaaetasi, who posted 20 points along with eight boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Sevaaetasi is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Iyanna Waltar was another key player, putting up nine points.

The win was the third in a row for Rogers, bringing their record for this year to 7-4. As for Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Rogers will head out to take on Spanaway Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Decatur, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-29 loss against Seattle Prep on the 6th.
