Baseball Recap: Tri-West Hendricks Triumphs

Tri-West Hendricks won the last time they faced Crawfordsville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bruins won by a run and slipped past the Athenians 6-5. While the Bruins didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Camden Brozak made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Graham Willhelm was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ethan Frye was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Tri-West Hendricks and bumps their season record up to 6-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Tri-West Hendricks is set to face off against their familiar foe Western Boone at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Crawfordsville will challenge rival Lebanon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
