Cypress Springs will head into Friday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 28-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged Bridgeland out 41-39. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Bears are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
