Football Game Preview: Doddridge County Bulldogs vs. South Harrison Hawks

Two dominant backs in Lyric Blake and Shepard Paugh are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Doddridge County Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the South Harrison Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Doddridge County will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Doddridge County didn't have too much trouble with Petersburg as they won 21-7. The 21-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Doddridge County's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dayne Murphy and Samuel James, who racked up four sacks between them. Murphy is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, South Harrison had to suffer through a 49-22 loss at the hands of Philip Barbour. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Doddridge County's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for South Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Doddridge County took their victory against South Harrison in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 26-6 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
