Football Game Preview: Baker Hornets vs. Florence Falcons + Official Tickets

The Baker Hornets will face off against the Florence Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Baker will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Baker was able to grind out a solid victory over Vigor, taking the game 21-12.

Baker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Jones led the charge by picking up 109 receiving yards and two scores. That's the most receiving touchdowns Jones has posted since back in August. Tate Graham was another key signal caller, throwing for 227 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 17 passes.

Baker didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Vigor to a completion percentage of just 48.4%. The team can thank Keandre Pettaway for the heroic effort on defense: he. Baker has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.64 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.64 in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Florence was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They pulled ahead with a 12-11 photo finish over Oxford.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. All those points came courtesy of Charlie Graves: he added 12 points with four field goals.

Baker's record now sits at 8-2. As for Florence, their record is now 6-4.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Baker has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 153.8 rushing yards per game.
