South Central dropped their record down to 14-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Mapleton Mounties by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Mapleton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Mapleton's part, Tyson Welch spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Welch has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gabe Wrobleski was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Mapleton's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 1-14 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, South Central will challenge Northmor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mapleton, they are taking a road trip to take on Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
