Basketball Recap: Bol Thet Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mount Zion Christian Academy

Springdale Prep had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors by a score of 62-49 on Friday.

Springdale Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bol Thet, who posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Thet a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Jordan Costley, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 13 points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Mount Zion Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Springdale Prep has already played their next game, a 66-36 win against Kid Star Rising Christian Academy on the 8th. As for Mount Zion Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wake County Academy HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th.
