Basketball Recap: Ellicott Takes a Loss

After flying high against Florence last Thursday, Ellicott came back down to earth. The Ellicott Thunderhawks came up short against the Colorado Springs Christian Lions on Saturday, falling 59-33. The defeat continues a trend for the Thunderhawks in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Ellicott's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Colorado Springs Christian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellicott will venture away from home to square off against La Junta at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will take on The Vanguard School at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Colorado Springs Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully The Vanguard School likes a good challenge.
