Volleyball Recap: Parke Heritage Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Parke Heritage had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 2-2 to make it six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Riverton Parke Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since October 12, 2024.

Parke Heritage's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carly Newnum, who had ten digs and two assists. That's the most digs Newnum has posted since back in August of 2024.

Parke Heritage was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Riverton Parke fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Riverton Parke lost, don't look at Cora Batty. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and five assists.

Parke Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Northview on the 25th. As for Riverton Parke, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Shakamak on the 25th.
