Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Rancho Christian Eagles

The Hillcrest Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Rancho Christian Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Hillcrest took a blow against Rancho Verde, falling 62-35. The Trojans have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Rancho Christian took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 71-43 victory over Valley View. Given Rancho Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Valley View is ranked 983rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rancho Christian pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.

Hillcrest came up short against Rancho Christian in their previous meeting on January 14th, falling 76-72. Can Hillcrest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
