Basketball Recap: Granite Hills Victorious

It's playoff time, and Granite Hills had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed a 55-49 win over the Orcutt Academy Spartans on Wednesday. This was payback for the Grizzlies, who suffered a 46-39 loss the last time these two teams met.

Orcutt Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Isaiah Soto and Jordan Sedillo. Soto went 8-for-15 to rack up 21 points, while Sedillo went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points in addition to six assists and six steals. That's the most steals Sedillo has posted since back in November of 2024. Jaysean Morrison was another key player, putting up four points and three blocks.

Granite Hills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season. Orcutt Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.

Coming up, Granite Hills will challenge Exeter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Exeter will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Granite Hills surely won't give up without a fight. Orcutt Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
