Baseball Recap: Chipley Tigers vs. Northview Chiefs
It's playoff time, and Chipley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the Northview Chiefs 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Chiefs since March 16, 2018.

Ty Gray made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, John Helms was excellent, going 3-for-5 with four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brantley Kirkland, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.
Chipley's victory bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Northview, their loss dropped their record down to 19-10.
Looking ahead, Chipley will take on Holmes County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Blue Devils have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Northview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
