Softball Recap: Parrish Community Gets the Win

Parrish Community picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Creekside Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulls.

Emmaline Van Beck tossed a big game, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alysa Jones, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kyndal France, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Parrish Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creekside only posted a batting average of .250.

Parrish Community's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Creekside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season.

Parrish Community and Creekside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Parrish Community (ranked tenth) will meet University Christian (ranked 47th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Parrish Community 2.5, University Christian 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Creekside will square off against Westminster Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday up 57 places (35 vs. 92).
