Softball Recap: Hermiston Wins Going Away Against Walla Walla

Hermiston won the last time they faced Walla Walla and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Blue Devils 19-2. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Piper Roberts made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Roberts was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hermiston got a massive performance out of Kenley Venoy, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Venoy a new career-high. Jordyn Emerick was another key player, going 3-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Hermiston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Hermiston and bumps their season record up to 8-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Walla Walla, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Coming up, Hermiston is taking a road trip to take on Richland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
