Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest lost against Sacred Heart last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Northwest Mustangs fell to the Sacred Heart Gremlins 45-39. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while the Gremlins are ranked 190th).

Northwest has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Sacred Heart, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will face off against Crest Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Crest Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Sacred Heart, they will square off against Smithton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
