Volleyball Recap: Malvern Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Malvern, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Catholic Central Crusaders by a score of 3-1 on Monday. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Crusaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18.

Avery Sprague went supernova, getting 20 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

Sprague wasn't the only good server: Malvern was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Malvern's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Catholic Central, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Malvern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Buckeye Trail on the 9th. Catholic Central has also already played their next game (against Bellaire), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
