Baseball Recap: Floyd County Takes a Loss

Floyd County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Glenvar on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 5-3. The loss continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost six in a row.

Zach Turpin was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Floyd County's record now sits at 14-10. As for Glenvar, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-11.

Floyd County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glenvar, they will venture away from home to take on Dan River at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
