Recap: Monroe Bearcats vs. Bonney Lake Panthers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arlington, the Monroe Bearcats were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They strolled past Bonney Lake with points to spare, taking the game 41-24. Monroe pushed the score to 34-10 by the end of the third, a deficit Bonney Lake cut but never quite recovered from.
Among those leading the charge was Gavin Ranz, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Blake Springer, who threw for 308 yards while completing 74.2% of his passes.
Monroe pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bonney Lake, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Monroe will head out on the road to face off against Bellevue at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bellevue knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Monroe likes a good challenge. Bonney Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
