Desert Heights Prep proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 22) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Anthem Prep Eagles 8-6. For the Yote, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kyson Kobbe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Kobbe was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayle Haskell, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Jesse Aguon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Desert Heights Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Anthem Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Desert Heights Prep and Anthem Prep will both be playing Salome the next time they take the field. Anthem Prep will host Salome at 3:00 p.m. on March 17th, while Desert Heights Prep will host them at 3:30 p.m. on March 25th.
