Volleyball Recap: York Falls Despite Big Games from Deja Golston and Rose Fortin + How To Watch

York lost against Bruton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

York wouldn't go down easily and took Bruton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 20-25, 15-25, 15-7.

York's loss came despite strong showings from Rose Fortin and Deja Golston. Fortin had 26 kills, five aces, three digs, and three blocks, while Golston had 13 digs. With that strong performance, Fortin is now averaging an impressive 5.5 kills per game.

Bruton was led to victory by Shayne Hafner and Liberty Justen-Green. Hafner had 14 digs, while Justen-Green had 13 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Justen-Green a new career-high.

York's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bruton, their win ended a four-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.
