Volleyball Recap: Clinton Prairie Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Alexis Perez and Cambell Carter

Clinton Prairie lost against Faith Christian back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gophers lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The Gophers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clinton Prairie was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Faith Christian work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-10, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Clinton Prairie had strong showings from Cambell Carter, who had 12 digs, and Alexis Perez, who had 14 assists and six digs. Carter is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Faith Christian was led to victory by Kelsey Olehy and Caya Stillings. Olehy had four digs and three aces, while Stillings had five digs and three aces. What's more, Olehy racked up 15 assists, the most she's had over her last nine matchups.

Clinton Prairie now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Faith Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Clinton Prairie and Faith Christian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Gophers will challenge rival Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Faith Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe North Newton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
