Cy-Fair is 6-1 against Stratford since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bobcats will take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Cy-Fair has given up an average of 29.3 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cy-Fair fought the good fight in their overtime game against Memorial on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Cy-Fair's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sean Riegler, who threw for 256 yards and three TDs while completing 74.1% of his passes, and Henry Lamar Brooks Jr, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lamar Brooks Jr showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 69 yards.

Meanwhile, Stratford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Falcons, posting a 47-14 win. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 25 points or more this season.

Cy-Fair better keep an eye on Davis Kendall. He was instrumental in Stratford's win, rushing for 184 yards and three scores on only five carries, while also picking up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Kendall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Guzman, who rushed for 62 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Stratford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Stratford back to even at 3-3. As for Cy-Fair, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Saturday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Riegler and Guzman. Riegler just won't slow down this season and has thrown 19 touchdowns while averaging 254.5 passing yards per game. Guzman has been a dominant force too and has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 148.2 passing yards per game.

Cy-Fair beat Stratford 31-24 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Spartans' Aaron Deleon, who rushed for 131 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, and also threw for 102 yards on eight of 23 attempts. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Bobcats to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
