Cobden came out on top against Elverado on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fourth inning. The Appleknockers walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Falcons. This was payback for the Appleknockers, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jansen Nance made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Thomas Coleman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Kingston Kuhn, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Cobden and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Elverado, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cobden will face off against Shawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elverado, they will challenge Woodlawn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
