Basketball Game Preview: Roseville Tigers vs. River Valley Falcons

Roseville has gone 8-2 against River Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Roseville Tigers will be playing at home against the River Valley Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Roseville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully River Valley likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Roseville lost to Placer at home by a 74-58 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Hillmen are ranked 87th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Oreste Yong, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Ren Marsh was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, River Valley ended up a good deal behind Twelve Bridges on Monday and lost 59-43.

Roseville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Roseville was able to grind out a solid win over River Valley in their previous matchup back in January, winning 81-70. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was River Valley's Jai Chohan, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 23 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Roseville still be able to contain Chohan? There's only one way to find out.
