Football Recap: Greeley West Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Greeley West had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-4 to make it eight. They were dealt a 45-7 defeat at the hands of the Poudre Impalas. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 28-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Poudre's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Poudre was led to victory by Mason Carter and Max Shubert. Carter rushed for 66 yards and a pair of scores, while Shubert rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. The dominant performance also gave Carter a new career-high in passer rating (114.1).

Coming up, Greeley West will take on Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Coyotes have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Poudre, they are taking a road trip to face off against Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Impalas surely won't give up without a fight.
