Basketball Recap: Mccluer North's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

McCluer North and Westminster Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but McCluer North had to settle for second. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westminster Christian Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Stars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Wildcats are ranked 15th).

The loss snapped McCluer North's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-12 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Westminster Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

McCluer North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westminster Christian, they will square off against Webster Groves on Wednesday. Webster Groves knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 games -- so hopefully Westminster Christian likes a good challenge.
