Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside couldn't beat Lakeside on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Rams lost 16-5 to the Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Kaylee Winterroth was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kendal Potter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Riverside has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Lakeside, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Riverside is set to take on their familiar foe Medical Lake at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lakeside will face off against rival Colville at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
