Baseball Game Preview: Jones Fightin' Tigers vs. Circle Christian Centurions

The Jones Fightin' Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Circle Christian Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Jones came up short against Colonial and fell 10-5. That's two games in a row now that the Fightin' Tigers have lost by exactly five runs.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Circle Christian sidestepped Lake Mary Prep for a 9-8 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Centurions.

Jon Waldrop made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Waldrop was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on DJ Williams, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Circle Christian: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carson Gore, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Circle Christian picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-12. As for Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
