Nate Moore commands the offense for Eagles win

Recap: Frankton Eagles vs. Elwood Panthers

The Frankton Eagles entered their tilt with the Elwood Panthers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Frankton blew past Elwood 60-40. Given Frankton's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Elwood is ranked 382nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Frankton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nate Moore led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Wright, who scored 18 points along with two steals.

Elwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Blackford, who scored 13 points. corbin leavell was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Frankton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Elwood, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tri-Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Tri-Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 320 points over their last five matchups. Elwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hamilton at 12:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Elwood is facing Hamilton at the right time seeing as Hamilton is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
