Rock Hill is 0-3 against Plano West since September of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Blue Hawks will be playing at home against the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Rock Hill turned things around against Princeton on Friday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Blue Hawks not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).
Rock Hill was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-17, 25-17.
Rock Hill can attribute much of their success to Peyton Parrott, who had nine assists and four digs, and Emma Alexander, who had 15 digs and five aces. That's the most aces Alexander has posted since back in August. Graicen Wilson also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.
Meanwhile, Plano West and Plano East faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Plano West got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 10-25, 25-12, 23-25, 15-11.
Plano West's victory bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Rock Hill, their win bumped their record up to 12-20.
