Softball Recap: Menlo-Atherton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Silver Creek

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Menlo-Atherton). Everything went their way against the Silver Creek Raiders on Wednesday as Menlo-Atherton made off with a 19-6 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Elise Koo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Gracy Nava was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Juliana Pandolfo, who went 4-for-6 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Menlo-Atherton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Menlo-Atherton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Silver Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Menlo-Atherton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-3 victory against Castilleja on the 20th. As for Silver Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 12-4 loss against Prospect on the 21st.
