Baseball Recap: Tohopekaliga's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Orlando Christian Prep last Thursday, Tohopekaliga came back down to earth. The Tohopekaliga Tigers fell 11-7 to the Waynesburg Central Raiders on Monday. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Tohopekaliga got a good showing from Gabriel Hernandez, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hernandez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Yhaison Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristian Viali, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Tohopekaliga now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Waynesburg Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tohopekaliga will welcome South Broward at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Waynesburg Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort LeBoeuf at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
