Basketball Game Preview: Lanier Christian Academy Lightning vs. Fideles Christian Rangers

The Lanier Christian Academy Lightning will face off against the Fideles Christian Rangers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lanier Christian Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Providence Christian Academy on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lanier Christian Academy came up short against Providence Christian Academy, falling 52-28. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Storm are ranked 154th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Meav Fouts, who posted seven points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Fideles Christian had to suffer through a 72-22 loss at the hands of Horizon Christian Academy. The defeat continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Fideles Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Lanier Christian Academy against Fideles Christian in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 68-33 win.
