Softball Recap: Moorpark Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Moorpark and Hart had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Musketeers never let the Hawks get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Friday. The Musketeers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Kiley Finnerty's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sydney Burckhard, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Rylie Cregut was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Moorpark pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Hart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moorpark will host Oak Park at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Hart, they will welcome Castaic at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Coyotes have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
