Soccer Game Preview: Calvary Christian Academy vs. Portersville Christian

Calvary Christian Academy will square off against Portersville Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calvary Christian Academy has four straight wins, Portersville Christian has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Calvary Christian Academy proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Algoma Christian, sneaking past 2-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Calvary Christian Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 56th in Maryland, while Algoma Christian is ranked 204th in Michigan).

Luke Kamauf and Sammy Scritchfield scored both of Calvary Christian Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 59 goals.

Meanwhile, Portersville Christian fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Beaver County Christian last Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Beaver County Christian by a score of 2-1.

Calvary Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 19-3-1. As for Portersville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
