The biggest upset of the week belonged to Olathe, who took down 126th ranked Grand Valley, 41-27.

Tyler Scott and Ivan Arizaga provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Pirates. The connection went for 71 yards, the longest such play in 2A Western this season.

The Cardinals' dynamic duo of Scott and Arizaga proved to be unstoppable against Olathe, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Scott threw for 293 yards and 2 touchdowns and Arizaga had 162 yards receiving.

Grand Valley's dynamic duo of Scott and Arizaga proved tough for Ryan Corn's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Scott put up the best numbers in passing as Mike Johnson's team lost to the Pirates.

Ryan Fitzgerald was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 158 yards on 31 carries as Aspen fell to Olathe. Tyler Tick also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.

Arizaga was the best receiver in the league this week as Grand Valley lost to the Pirates.

Fields Brady was a key player and the best on defense this week as Bayfield topped Basalt. The 5-foot-11 junior.

The Cardinals' Scott and Arizaga have formed a dream team this season, leading 2A Western in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Scott has thrown for 814 yards this season, while Arizaga has 21 catches for 371 yards. The Skiers' Fitzgerald leads the league in rushing yards with 475.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Bayfield takes on second place Aspen. Last week, the Wolverines beat the Longhorns, while Aspen bested Pagosa Springs.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mike Sirko's team takes on Bayfield. The Skiers have allowed 46 points this season, while Gary Heide's team has given up 34. Aspen allowed 14 points last week as it beat the Pirates.

Gunnison scaled the state rankings by moving to 146 from 184 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cowboys were able to make move up by beating Coal Ridge 31-3.
