Recap: Whitko Wildcats vs. Fort Wayne Wayne Generals
Even though the Whitko Wildcats have not done well against the Fort Wayne Wayne Generals recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Whitko enjoyed a cozy 69-54 victory over Fort Wayne Wayne. The victory was nothing new for Whitko as they're now sitting on five straight.
Whitko's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reese Stonebraker, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Stonebraker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayma Stonebraker, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Whitko's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Whitko will be playing in front of their home fans against Maconaquah at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Maconaquah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Whitko is ranked 103rd). Fort Wayne Wayne won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
