Volleyball Recap: Penn Starts off Right with Win over La Porte

Penn had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the La Porte Slicers by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Kingsmen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-20, 21-25, 25-16, 26-24.

Penn was led to victory by Montana Swartz and Carson Petty. Swartz had 23 assists and eight digs, while Petty had eight digs and two aces. That's the most digs Petty has posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, La Porte still got an impressive performance from Shayla Sorg, who had 19 digs.

Coincidentally, Penn and La Porte will both be playing Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger the next time they take the court. The Kingsmen will head out to face the Saints at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Slicers will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
