Volleyball Game Preview: Southwest Eagles vs. Oviedo Lions

After both having extra time off, the Southwest Eagles and the Oviedo Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwest will be strutting in after a victory while Oviedo will be coming in after a defeat.

Southwest is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Mater Lakes Academy, who was ranked 12th at the time (Southwest was ranked fourth). Southwest walked away with a 2-0 win over Mater Lakes Academy last Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Oviedo suffered their biggest loss since April 24, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Lake Brantley, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-8, 25-16.

Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Oviedo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
